Governor Marina Kovtun briefed Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of Council of Europe on Murmansk region international cooperation
Governor Marina Kovtun delivered a report to the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe on the Murmansk region international cooperation. Governor noted that 2018 will mark the 25th anniversary of signing Declaration on cooperation in the Barents Euro-Arctic region. “During past 25 years the Barents region has become an efficient regional laboratory where interaction of countries of various history, politics and economy is being fulfilled. The North is being regarded as the territory of trust and development. Our priority is to preserve our achievements and to open up new opportunities for fruitful cooperation,” noted Marina Kovtun. Along with Barents cooperation the Murmansk region is actively involved into implementation of international projects in accordance with bilateral and multilateral agreements signed between Russia and other states.
