Tourist flow to Murmansk region at New Year holidays grew by 10%
Development of tourism was among key issues being discussed at the meeting chaired by the Governor of the Murmansk region Marina Kovtun on January 22. Head of the region noted that in the course of the last 3 years influx of tourists to the Murmansk region grew by 14%, in 2017 332 thousand people visited the region. Minister for development of industry and entrepreneurship of the Murmansk region Olga Kuznetsova briefed that in accordance with the experts from December 31, 2017 to January 8, 2018 around 33 thousand tourists travelled to the Murmansk region which exceeds statistics of the corresponding period of the previous year by 10%. Tourists come primarily from the Southeast Asia: China, Thailand, India. “Khibiny” tourist complex is traditionally the most visited site of the region.
