The main tasks of the Committee are

Prevention and elimination of infectious and other animal diseases in the Murmansk region

Ensuring the safety of animal products in veterinary and sanitary terms on the territory of the Murmansk region
Protection of the population of the Murmansk region from diseases common to humans and animals, with the exception of issues whose solution is assigned to the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation

Implementation of state veterinary supervision and control on the territory of the Murmansk region

Monitoring the quality and safety of products controlled by the state veterinary supervision

Monitoring the activities of specialists in the field of veterinary medicine

Implementation of coordination, regulation and control
Implementation of coordination, regulation and control within its competence of the activities of subordinate institutions, including:

control over the organization and conduct of anti-epizootic, veterinary-sanitary and medical-diagnostic measures;
control over the organization of paid veterinary services, as well as the correctness of the collection of fees;
control over the compliance of the quality of services provided by institutions with established quality standards;
financial control and control over the use of property of the Murmansk region.

Implementation of the development and approval of the regional anti-epizootic plan
Exercise of the powers of the Russian Federation in the field of veterinary medicine transferred to the state authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation, namely:

establishment of restrictive measures (quarantine) on the territory of the Murmansk region;
cancellation of restrictive measures (quarantine) on the territory of the Murmansk region.
