The Governor have made a report «Murmansk regional development - heading the Arctic» at the plenary session about Russian part of the Arctic development. «Today’s meeting proves that there is a great interest in Arctic issues. Arctic region, as experts point out, will in future determine the major development vectors of Russia and the whole world» - said Marina Kovtun. In 2013 in Russia were accepted such decisions that could affect the Russian part of the Arctic seriously. Marina Kovtun said that the role of the Murmansk region in the accomplishment of Russian national interests is determined by competitiveness advantages of the Murmansk region. «We suggested amend Russian legislative base concerning introduction of tax regulation measures that provide favorable conditions for regional business», told Marina Kovtun. The Governor reported that the region is deeply integrated in international and transregional cooperation projects. A great number of international projects is being implemented annualy on the territory of the Murmansk region in accordance with international agreements between Russia and foreign countries. «In 2013 we have significantly expanded the actions aimed at the inspiration of the investment activity in the region. Accepted amendments afford us to provide a serious state support for investors that have chosen Murmansk», – told the Governor. – «Regional Government is ready to provide every possible support for Russian and foreign investors».
