The Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra gave a series of concerts in Murmansk region within the 13th Moscow Easter Festival. Murmansk region became the northernmost locale the festival took place at. The Mariinsky Brass Ensemble under Maestro Gergiev performed in Severomorsk while the Mariinsky Stradivarius Ensemble under world famous violinist Pinchus Zukerman gave a concert in Murmansk. Festival’s final event was a concert of the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra under Maestro Gergiev. Governor Marina Kovtun thanked musicians and Maestro Gergiev for a gorgeous musical gift they presented to the Murmansk region’s audience. “Your work is a mission of unification. Thanks to such an event our people can enjoy the great Russian culture,” Marina Kovtun noted.
