The Memorandum of Understanding between the Murmansk Regional Government and «STATOIL RUSSIA AS» regarding technical and economic cooperation in the Murmansk Region was signed by the Governor of the Murmansk Region Marina Kovtun and Director on Government Relations and Public Affairs, Statoil Russia AS, Olsen Svein Åge Dahl during the III Murmansk International Business Week. "Joint projects of the Norwegian oil giant and such educational institutions as the Murmansk State Technical University, the Murmansk Industrial College are well-known. They are aimed at improving of the professional competence of specialists in oil and gas sector. Memorandum will strengthen our cooperation, especially in such a difficult time when geopolitics is not as stable as before. However, we confirm our partnership at the regional level every two years, - said Marina Kovtun. During the last two years modern educational facilities such as the Centre of certification of welders; the Linguistic center and the Laboratory for the development of innovative and environmentally friendly drilling fluids were created in these institutions. These projects contribute to the future of oil and gas industry. New memorandum will be valid until the end of 2016, and its implementation will serve the development of oil and gas industry in the Murmansk region and expansion of "Statoil" prospects in the region. Olsen Svein Åge Dahl said that the cooperation of the company and the region continues for ten years. "Thus we contribute to the development of skills that are important in development of offshore hydrocarbon resources. I am glad that we can continue this good cooperation today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow "- said Olsen Svein Åge Dahl.
