The Committee on Fish Industry of the Murmansk region and the Information Office of the Nordic Council of Ministers in St. Petersburg announce the launch of the international project "Cooperation for harmonizing the activities in the fishing industry in the North Atlantic and Barents Sea". Seminars and study tours in the North-West of Russia and Nordic countries (Faroe Islands, Norway and Sweden) will be organized in frames of the project. The main goal is to improve the level of knowledge and competence among participants in certification and licensing of fish products. The first seminar "Monitoring of fish safety, quality management and certification of fishing activities in the Nordic countries and in Russia" will be held on December, 2 in the conference hall of the “AZIMUT Hotel Murmansk”. Representatives of business, involved in the fishing industry, non-governmental organizations and associations of fishermen, representatives of the authorities from the North-West of Russia and Norway, Denmark, Iceland and the Faroe Islands will meet together to exchange experience in the field of certification rules and regulations.
