A comprehensive discussion on the prospects of the industry took place within the XVI specialized exhibition "Sea. Resources. Technologies - 2015 ". Governor Marina Kovtun reported that regional fishermen provide 25% of the catch of Russian fishing fleet. Cooperation between Murmansk region and Norwegian provinces remains to be particularly significant, especially with Finnmark in the field of marine resources management. The signing of the joint work plan between the Union of fishermen of the North, the regional Association of coastal fisheries and fish farms and the Fishermen Union of Norway – is a good example of continuing cooperation, as well as the bilateral agreement on cooperation between the regional Association of coastal fisheries and fish farms and the Coastal Fishermen Association of Norway. In addition, it is extremely important for Murmansk region to adopt the successful experience of neighboring Norway in the development of aquaculture, stressed Marina Kovtun. In this regard, the Protocol on cooperation in the field of aquaculture development in the border areas between the Committee for fishery complex of Murmansk region, the Ministry of economic development of Murmansk region and the Department of business and industrial development of Administration of Finnmark County Council was signed on March 18, 2015.
