Within the program of the 6 Murmansk International Business Week for the first time Murmansk hosts Barents Traffic Safety Forum. The event has been organized by the Russian Association of regional (state) road administrations "RADOR" and the Government of the Murmansk region. List of the key discussion topics includes Barents road network development, measures to eliminate collisions rate and to increase traffic safety, usage of innovative materials in the High North, safe roads maintenance in winter conditions and traffic regulation of heavy vehicles. Forum is held with participation of experts from Russia, Norway, Finland and Sweden. While opening the event governor of the Murmansk region Marina Kovtun pointed out that “roads are to be seen as blood vessels of the economy. In the Barents region roads have the uniting effect and allow to bridge the gaps between economies, cultures and people”.
