Murmansk regional library hosted a presentation of a website created in memory of the Japanese cyclist Haruhisa Watanabe. In 2012 Japanese cyclist Haruhisa Watanabe perished in the suburbs of Kandalaksha. He almost made it to Murmansk, his final destination, having covered the distance from China to the Kola peninsula. A year later the memorial tablet was erected at the accident site. Then the idea to publish Haruhisa’s itinerary came out for the first time. For that purpose the Watanabe family decided to launch a memorable website. The itinerary was translated by the group of Rumi Fukusima who is the chair of the “Japan in Murmansk” organization.
