On June 6, 2018 Deputy Governor of the Murmansk region Roman Duryagin held a meeting with Eltje Aderhold, the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in St. Petersburg. In his welcoming remarks R. Duryagin noted that two countries have been efficiently cooperating for a long time and pivotal goal of today lies in preserving and enhancing that level of cooperation.
The Murmansk region currently has been attracting world’s attention. It has to do with Arcric-related issues and the Northern Sea Route. Russia aims at strengthening its own strategic interests in the region and stands ready for international cooperation in the area.
The Consul General mentioned that she met with the Governor of the Murmansk region Marina Kovtun in the margins of the Russian-German Raw Materials Forum in St. Petersburg. In the course the meeting prospects of further development of the Murmansk region were discussed.
