The first Deputy Governor Alexey Tyukavin held a working meeting with representatives of the Icelandic business community. The delegation is headed by Ambassador of Iceland to Russia Ms Berglind Ásgeirsdóttir. She has visited the region several times. In November 2018 she took part in the VII Murmansk international business week.
Alexey Tyukavin noted that in the current economic realities new incentives for development are needed, and one of the most pressing is the issue of updating the fishing fleet and capacities for processing aquatic biological resources.
The first Deputy Governor wished the participants of the conference fruitful work and declared the 6th conference "Fishing in the Arctic" open.
Speaking about investments Ms Berglind Ásgeirsdóttir said that there are specific examples of Icelandic investments to enterprises in Russia and the Murmansk region, and in such cooperation there is a mutual benefit.
