«Logistics in the Arctic» under discussion in Murmansk
The 9th international conference “Arctic Logistics” was held in Murmansk. At this dialogue platform a wide range of issues were discussed, including technical and technological support of the Northern Sea Route, development of transport and logistics infrastructure in the Arctic, ports, air links, railway networks. The main goal is to get together specialized small and medium-sized enterprises and representatives of large investment projects.
The head of the region Andrey Chibis noted active work being done in order to attract investors to the region and the importance of creating comfortable conditions for workers involved in the implementation of Arctic projects in the area.
The annual conference had been attended by more than 100 managers and specialists. They discussed development of transport and transit potential of the Northern Sea Route, including new models of cooperation of all stakeholders – state, business representatives, developers and producers. The program also included a panel discussion on the development of port and coastal infrastructure in the Arctic, including international experience in this area.
