The Murmansk region will become an active participant of a new season of the federal project «Gastronomic Map of Russia». The head of the region Andrey Chibis announced this at a press videoconference held with the news agency «Rossiya Segodnya».
Andrey Chibis presented a plan of the gastronomic tourism development in the Murmansk region to experts and journalists. It was particularly mentioned that the northerners and guests of the region could try «the taste of the North» at the 5thArctic festival in Teriberka which is to be held on July 13-14, 2019. The food trucks of the special series «Gastronomic Map of Russia» will arrive for two-day festival in the Murmansk region. Participants are to be treated with the local products dishes and pies from the mobile Russian stove.
The Murmansk region has been taking part in the project «Gastronomic Map of Russia» for two years. During the press conference Andrey Chibis underlined that the Murmansk region brand recognition increased by 25% following the results of already launched events of the federal project.
In March 2019 a team of chefs from the Murmansk region took part in the largest industry exhibition METRO EXPO 2019 in Moscow as part of the federal project «Gastronomic Map of Russia». Gala dinner was held in the highest restaurant in Europe «Ruski» in honor of the Murmansk Region Week opening ceremony. During seven days guests of the restaurant could enjoy the special menu of Northern cuisine, with more than 1000 dishes ordered, including more than 300 portions of the famous cod «Northern lights».
The First Arctic mobile festival of the regional cuisine «A Taste of the Arctic» was held in December 2018 in Kirovsk, and became one of the most vivid events of the last season of «Gastronomic Map of Russia» in the Murmansk region.
