One year from today exactly on May 18, 2021 at the International Museum Day Murmansk Museum of Regional Studies is due to open after a massive renovation.
Governor Andrey Chibis has inspected the reconstruction works and has made sure that the coronavirus pandemic would not have extended the deadlines of the planned works.
“This is a challenging project. The construction works are to be finished in November this year. At the International Museum Day, on May 18, 2021 the Museum is to reopen.”
The Museum building was constructed back in 1939. After the war it had been rebuilt with all the available at that time materials. The full-scale renovation of the Museum has been launched in May 2019. Once the reconstruction is fulfilled the Museum will be equipped with multimedia enabling to set up and demonstrate online exhibitions. A lift for the disabled will be installed.
