The Government authorities of the Murmansk and the Kaluga regions intend to develop trade and economic, scientific and technical, social and cultural cooperation. The cooperation agreement was signed between the regions by the Governor of the Murmansk region Andrey Chibis and the acting Governor of the Kaluga region Vladislav Shapsha.
“We have enjoyed longstanding cooperation with the Kaluga region. Our key task is to give an impulse for establishing additional ties”, noted Andrey Chibis.
Vladislav Shapsha in his turn noted that connection between the regions is much stronger than it might seem and the agreement provides new opportunities for establishing new relations.
The parties agreed to work together on the use of two airports – Murmansk and Khibiny to organize transit flights through the Kaluga air Harbor, which will give new opportunities to residents and increase the tourist flow between the regions.
In addition, enterprises of the Murmansk region may be interested in the industrial opportunities of the Kaluga region - the production of locomotives, appliances and machines.
The agreement is the basic document and legal basis for cooperation. The most promising areas outlined in the document are the economy, industrial production, investment, trade, entrepreneurship, science and high technologies, the peaceful use of nuclear energy, education, healthcare, transport and road management.
