Make the Arctic attractive and accessible and bring domestic tourism to the European level. The prospects for the tourism development in the Murmansk region were discussed today at the presentation session, which was held as part of the First International Arctic Media Congress Accessible Arctic Forum.
The event was opened by Deputy Governor Olga Kuznetsova, who presented a program for the development of transport infrastructure and creation of new tourist facilities.
The region needs professionals and with each large implemented project there will be more employment opportunities. Irina Shadrina, acting rector of MAGU, made a report on training personnel for the tourism sector. She stressed, that education related to tourism and service are very popular.
"This year the competition for the budget places was 2 people per place. The University also received several offers from China to conduct joint educational programs," Irina Shadrina commented.
