The project for the construction of the Kola wind farm is in the active stage of implementation, General Director of PJSC Enel Russia Stephane Zweguintzow said during a working meeting with the Governor of the Murmansk Region Andrey Chibis.

The head of the region noted the high importance of the project for the Kola Arctic.

"This is a high-tech project of an immense interest for our region. We are interested in that everything is to be done according to schedule and the world's northernmost wind farm is to operate at full capacity," said Andrey Chibis.

Stephane Zweguintzow stressed that construction in the Kola district is proceeding according to plan.

“We went to the site and made sure that the work is in full swing. 17 out of 57 foundations have already been built. A very large percentage of the on-site work has been completed, 33 supports have already been erected and the work to build the next ones is in the progress. A milestone of the project which is to take place next week on Tuesday-Wednesday – the main network transformer will be delivered by road. This is such an oversized equipment that we will transport it at night in order to minimize the impact on the necessary movements of residents of the city and the region,” said the head of the company.

In March-April large–sized elements of wind turbines-gondolas, towers and blades are to be delivered to the Murmansk region.
