These days a traditional international festival "Barents Spektakel" is held. It is a platform that unites creative residents of the Barents region. In Murmansk, the festival events are hosted by the Center for Contemporary Art of the regional scientific library "21A".

One of the colorful events in the festival program was the light installation "Svetofon". Residents of Kirkenes controlled the lighting on the facade of the Murmansk Regional Scientific Library and residents of Murmansk changed the lighting of the building in Kirkenes. The authors of the idea were Eugeniy Goman and Torbjorn Sandnes in collaboration with the “Barents Bird” festival and “Girls on the bridge” project in Kirkenes. The interactive experiment once again proved that communication and creativity have no boundaries.

Another project is "Cube of broadcasting” during which the broadcast of pre-recorded performances of Norwegian and Murmansk artists is organized on a large video screen in the Center for Contemporary Art "21A" and in Kirkenes.

At the same time, a series of discussions "Transborder Cafe" is also taking place in Kirkenes and Murmansk. On February 18, participants on both sides of the border discussed the years of cooperation and the vision of the future for the Barents region, exchanged views and ideas on trust and the principles of equal partnership.

The festival will end with a screening of competitive films of the International Film Festival in Tromsø. The program, called "Films from the North: Lockdown", is dedicated to the spring of 2020, when the coronavirus pandemic slowed down the whole world.
