At the offline session of the “Pechengafilm” film school in the Second School Center in Nikel the audience met with the famous cinematographer Mikhail Ovchinnikov. For more than 15 years he has been making feature and documentaries films for leading TV channels – First, RT, Discovery Channel, as well as for the Internet platforms. Mikhail partook in creative expeditions to the North Pole, Novaya Zemlya and various parts of Russia and the world.
The guest shared his rich professional experience with the aspiring directors mainly about the technical competence of the cameraman. Mikhail Ovchinnikov showed how to use the shooting and lighting equipment, how important it is to understand the laws of composition, the skill of choosing technical and creative tools to solve the shooting tasks set by the director. At the same time, he devoted most of his classes to the personal qualities of a person who picks up a camera.
After the course the film school students are to make the presentation of their projects and to shoot their own films.
